W1H, N5H, W6H and N0H Special Event Stations Celebrate 100 Ham Nation Broadcasts Petaluma, CA, May 7, 2013 -‐ To celebrate the 100th broadcast of the Ham Nation program on TWIT.TV Wednesday, May 29th, several of its post show net control stations have been issued 1x1 calls. Hams around the nation and world can join the celebration and earn a colorful certificate at the same time. To earn a certificate amateur radio operators need to work each of the four stations: W1H, N5H, W6H and N0H. Contacts may be made on any band. The logs from all four stations will be merged and verified and hams may print their own certificate at www.hamnation40.net/c.aspx. The certificates will be available on the site a few days after the 100th broadcast. Additionally, amateur radio operators may exchange QSL cards and receive a commemorative 100th Ham Nation broadcast QSL from each Special Event station. To get the individual QSL cards hams may send their QSL with a SASE to each special event station. Mailing addresses for all four stations may be found at www.qrz.com. Ham Nation premiered on the TWIT.TV network on May 25, 2011. It's been broadcast on the Internet weekly ever since. Hosted by Bob Heil (K9EID), Gordon West (WB6NOA), George Thomas (W5JDX), along with TWIT.TV president and owner Leo Laporte (W6TWT), its goal is to excite existing hams to become active again and help prospective hams obtain their license. Ham Nation may be viewed live at http://TWIT.TV/hn every Wednesday evening at 0100 UTC. Hams who are unable to watch the show live may watch the Podcasts at TWIT.TV or on iTunes. The archives at TWIT.TV contain an audio and video podcast of every Ham Nation broadcast ever aired. Each week the show covers subjects ranging from simple antenna design to the answers of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) about any topic of interest to hams. Hamfests, conventions and other current events are spotlighted each week. "Smoke and Solder," with George Thomas features kit building and construction tips for the Do It Yourself (DIY) crowd. Also, Don Wilbanks, AE5DW, presents the latest news from Amateur Radio Newsline every week. The Special Event stations will be operating on or near their regular net operating frequencies: 14.268.00 MHz; 7.272.00 MHz; 3.847.00 MHz. If band conditions permit, the four stations will also operate on or near 28.450.00 MHz for the benefit of Technician Class operators. All four stations plan to operate at various times during the day and at night pending operator availability and band conditions. From May 15th to May 29th, keep an eye on your favorite DX Cluster for W1H, N5H, W6H and N0H! dale.puckett@att.net
