Solar activity averaged only very slightly lower last week compared
to the week previous.  Monday, January 9 had zero sunspots.
 
The flux should stay right around 70 for the rest of the month, with
very stable conditions around the 15th to the 18th and the 26th to
28th.  January 20th could have some slightly disturbed conditions.
 
Solar data is available from NOAA via Internet using the World Wide
Web.  For access, use http:/www.sel.noaa.gov.  Gopher and FTP can
also be used via sel.noaa.gov.
 
Path projections for this week are to South Georgia Island from West
Haven, Connecticut and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
>From Connecticut, 80 meters looks good from 0000 to 0630z, and 40
meters from 2300 to 0730.  30 meters should be open from 2200 to
2300 and open again around 0800.  On some days it may reopen as
early as 0230.  20 meters should open around 2000 to 2100, and 17
meters from 1400 to 1930.  15 meters should be open most days
around 1700 to 1830, and on some days may open as early as 1430
and close around 1930.
 
>From Oklahoma check 80 meters from 0100 to 0600z and 40 meters from
2345z to 0730.  30 meters should be good from 2300 to 0800 most
days, with some weakness around 0530.  Check 20 meters from 2130
to 2330, and 17 meters from 1430 to 2230.  15 meters should be
open most days from 1530 to 2100.
