This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by
Tedd, KB8NW, the OPDX Bulletin and Contest Corral from QST.  Thanks
to all.
 
MALTA, 9H.  A group from the Dutch Radio Amateur Society, including
PA0BEA as 9H3IE, PA3CGX as 9H3ID, PA3BIZ as 9H3ON, PE1KNL as 9H3QH,
PA0TPM as 9H3TD, PA3CRA, PA3DES and PE1NWI, will be active June 22
to July 4.  160 meters, HF, 6 meters and working OSCARs 10 and 13,
mode B, are all planned.  They will monitor 50.110, 50.120 and
144.300 MHz for sporadic E openings.  QSL to their home calls direct
or via the bureau.
 
ANGOLA, D2.  Valy, D2/YO3YX, has been heard on 18150 kHz around
1508z and 21267 kHz around 1523z.  QSL via YO3YU, PO Box 55-36,
Bucharest, Romania.
 
CANARY ISLANDS, EA8.  Jean-Pierre is active daily on 30 meters.
Check around 0230, 0900 and 2230z.  He will be there until June 23.
 
CHRISTMAS ISLAND, VK9X.  Ken, JA1CMD/AD4WF, will sign VK9XH June 23
to 26.  He will operate mainly CW on 80 through 10 meters with
exciter level power and a wire antenna.  QSL to JA1CMD via JARL
only, or direct to AD4WF via his 1995 CBA.
 
KYRGYZSTAN, EX.  EX/V31YM is very active on 20 through 10 meter CW
and SSB, the WARC bands, and RS satellites.  QSL direct to Wilhelm
Schommer, PO Box 71, Speicher, 54658 Germany.  Do not send cards to
his home call address.
 
FAROE ISLANDS, OY.  A mostly Belgian team, including N4XYA, ON4LZ,
ON6QR and ON7PC, will be active from the last week of July to the
first week of August.  They will operate multi-op in the IOTA
Contest from 1200z July 29 to 1200z July 30 signing OY6A on CW and
SSB.  Before and after the contest they will transmit from a
portable station on several islands in the Faroes archipelago.
Claus, DK9FE, will be active from July 10 to 27, operating mainly CW
on 80 through 10 meters about 15 kHz from the band edge.
 
EASTER ISLAND XR0Y AND XR0Z UPDATE.  Bob, KK6EK, reports the
operation for Salas y Gomez, aka SyG, originally to be part of the
DXpedition to Easter Island in September, has been postponed until
October.  This is due to transportation coordination.
 
Carlos, NP4IW, will lead the SyG DXpedition October 1 to 22.  The
call sign will be XR0Z.  About one week of actual operating will be
possible.  Please note that SyG counts as Easter Island for DXCC,
but will be a new IOTA.
 
KK6EK will lead a team consisting of K4UEE, XE1XA, AH9B, XE1L, WT8S,
G0LMX, KE6QZZ, W4ETO, WJ2O, K0IR, HB9AEE, AA6TT, W3UM, PA0ERA,
W8FMG, XE1CI, N1OCS, K9JSC, HB9AHL, W0ZV, plus 6 non-licensed folks,
from September 2 to 23.  The call sign will be XR0Y.
 
CARIBBEAN VHF GRID SQUARE BONANZA.  From June 18 to 25, several
hundred amateurs will be active in the Yaesu DX Caribbean cruise.
Operations will be mostly on VHF and UHF.  There is equipment for
50, 144 and 432 MHz SSB, including power amplifiers and serious
antennas.  On June 16, 17 and 18, listen for them from Aruba, FK42.
On June 19 and 20 they will activate FK53, 63, 74, 84, 85 and 95 in
the Dominican Republic.  June 21 features grids FK93, 94 and 95 in
Barbados.  GK03 and FK93 in Martinique are on tap for June 22.
Curacao operations are slated for June 23 and 24 with trips to FK52,
62, 63, 73, 83, 84 and 94.  Wrapping up the trip will be FK42 and
52.
 
QSL NOTES.  Mats, SM7PKK, reports that cards for 3D2CT and 3D2CU,
Conway Reef, are being printed.  Some will be available at the
Friedrickshafen, Germany hamfest.  He arrives home on June 26 and
will start shipping out cards.
 
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The All Asian DX Contest, CW, sponsored
by JARL, runs from 0000z June 17 to 2400z June 18, on 160 through 10
meters.  Exchange signal report and two digit number for operator's
age.  YLs may send 00.
 
The SMIRK QSO Party, sponsored by the Six Meter International Radio
Klub, runs from 0000z June 17 to 2400z June 18 on six meters only.
Exchange call sign, SMIRK number and grid square.
