Activity was a little slow in the Pacific Northwest, many of the usual suspects were out fishing or something! I was only on 432 this time out so that did not help. Hit 4 high spots in 4 grids in about 8 hours for 31 QSOs. KD7OJP performed logging... Read More

Great contest! I wish that the east coast could hear my signal better,
as many low power stations were heard here in AZ. I was fun working JA's off the backside
of my verticle. I hope that the Caribbean will be more active in '02. 73's Read More

I had problems with the 3-Band-Mini-Beam that i had with me. At the first
test at home it works not bad, but in OH0-Land there was no resonance
on 15m and on 20m i found, that it had no directivity. So i used mostly
wire dipoles and a 1-element deltal... Read More

  • Fritz WD8E explains to one our new hams Carol KC8NYV that this is a little too low for even a NVI antenna. Seems like sometime during the nite the 80m dipole came down but Carol just tweaked the tuner a little and loaded up the grass. Maybe she has something here!

I've been into CW contesting for 15 months now, and every time I find it more and more fun! This time I participated 20hrs out of 24, and broke my personal QSO-record: 550. Mind you; with very limited antennas: inverted V for 20m and delta loop for 40m... Read More
