Logbook of the World Trusted Partner Announcement
ARRL and Club Log jointly announce that Club Log has become the first logging service to achieve Trusted Partner™ status for ARRL’s Logbook of the World® (LoTW®). LoTW is the largest repository of Amateur Radio contacts in the world, and is highly secure, to authenticate amateur contacts
LoTW users are responsible for ensuring the security of their credentials ("Callsign Certificates"). Users who allow their credentials to be compromised, or who knowingly exploit compromised credentials may lose the privileges of using LoTW and participating in ARRL-sponsored award programs. See lotw.arrl.org/lotw-help_devel_en/certificatesecurity
The Trusted Partner program defines the requirements for an online service to store user credentials with acceptable security. Users can rely on a Trusted Partner service to provide acceptable security, and are absolved of responsibility for the credential security provided by that service.
Club Log has implemented security at the level required by the Trusted Partner program, as verified by ARRL’s Information Technology department. Trusted Partners are re-verified periodically to remain in the program. The technical description of security requirements for Trusted Partners can be found at www.arrl.org//files/file/LoTW_Developer/LoTW%20Trusted%20Partners-1_0.pdf. The current members of the Trusted Partner program are also identified there. Other logging sites are invited to join the program by implementing the Trusted Partner standard.
