Instructor Feedback

Recognizing the Valuable Contribution of License Instructor Volunteers

The ARRL has always valued the efforts that Amateur Radio volunteers contribute to instruct classes preparing new people for success with the license exams that will gain them their first Amateur Radio license, or help them achieve an upgraded license. Over the years we’ve regularly recognized the contribution of time that Volunteer Examiners provide to conduct exam sessions, and now we have a program that will allow us to recognize the efforts of Volunteer Instructors.

This is a web-based program providing ARRL Registered Instructors an easy way to provide us with feedback about your classes and instruction. Your feedback will provide us with information about your activities and a way to recognize the important contribution that you make to Amateur Radio. This program also offers you the capability to print a certificate verifying your status as an ARRL Registered Instructor. And it will also offer certificates to acknowledge other milestones.

Here's How It Works

The day after the end date of a class an email notice will be sent to the instructor who listed the license class in the ARRL license class database.  The instructor who listed the class is considered the listing "owner". This notice will request the listing owner supply information about the class and all instructors who participated in providing instruction during the class, including the number of hours contributed by each instructor. Going forward we will accumulate the number of classes ARRL Registered Instructors have participated in, and the number of volunteer hours of instruction so we will have a better idea of the level of activity of instruction in different ARRL Sections. This information will enable us to recognize ARRL Registered Instructors for their work at different milestones.

The key here is that the listing owner (the instructor who creates the class listing) must respond by reporting back on class activities at their conclusion. We will make it as simple as possible to complete the online form that will capture the information we need.

Here's the link to find the Feedback page with a list of classes that have ended and for which feedback is needed: www.arrl.org/license-class-feedback.  A link to this page will be included in the email that the listing owner receives.  You may also bookmark this page in your ARRL website "Favorites" area.
