This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by
Tedd, KB8NW, the OPDX Bulletin, Jose, CT1ENQ, Joe, NJ1Q, Martti,
OH2BH, Leo, JI1DLZ, Jim, JR2BNF, Randy, K0EU, and Contest Corral
from QST.  Thanks to all.
 
PRATAS ISLAND.  A large group of ops will commence operations on May
25.  On CW try 1827, 3504, 7004, 10134, 14024, 18074, 21024, 24894
and 28024 kHz.  Listen for their SSB on 1827, 3555, 7045, 7065,
14195, 18125, 21295, 24945 and 28495 kHz.  RTTY should be on 7082,
14082 and 21082 kHz.  Some 6 meter and satellite operating is
possible.  Pratas Island is IOTA AS-110.  QSL via KU9C.
 
VIETNAM, 3W.  Warren, KF7AY, and other members of the Central
Arizona DX Association hope to get on the air from Vietnam around
October 12 or 13.
 
CAMBODIA, XU.  Hungarian Embassy worker Sanyi, XU95HA, will leave
Cambodia on June 10 or 12.  Sanyi will be active everyday until
departure and plans to be in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest.
 
ERITREA, E31.  Jin, JF1IST, will be in Eritrea May 27 to June 11 on
UN related activity.  He plans to operate all HF bands, 50 MHz and
OSCAR 10 and 13, though this is not a classic DXpedition.
 
MALI, TZ.  TZ5RS has been active and heard on May 20 around 14011
kHz between 0100 and 0200z.  QSL via AA8AD.
 
SRI LANKA, 4S.  4S7/JA4FM is active on the low bands.  Check 7045
kHz between 1600 and 1700z, then 3795 to 3799 kHz or 1909 kHz
simplex calling CQ.
 
FIJI, 3D2.  Steve, AA6LF, and Bob, N6EK, will sign 3D2LF and 3D2EK
respectively, for two weeks starting May 29.  They hope to activate
the Mamanuca Group, OC-121, and the Yasawa Group, OC-156, for IOTA
chasers.  Listen for their CW 5 kHz up from the band edge.  For SSB
try 7058, 14260 and 21260 kHz.  QSL 3D2LF via AA6BB.  QSL 3D2EK via
N6EK.
 
MALAWI, 7Q.  A European Satellite DX Fund sponsored DXpedition will
run May 26 to June 4 by Arie, PA3DUU, with activity on OSCAR 10 and
13.  The only HF will be on RTTY.  QSL via PA3DUU.  Please include
sufficient postage.
 
ZAIRE, 9Q.  Alex, PA3DZN, aka 9X5EE, is now active as 9Q2L.  Check
14025 kHz from 2100 to 2330z.
 
CAPE VERDE, D4.  Geoff, GJ4ICD, will start his 6 meter effort around
June 1 from the QTH of D44BC.  Listen for D44BC on 6 meters as well
as 28885 kHz.
 
VATICAN, HV.  Paolo, I2UIY, hopes to be in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest
signing HV4NAC.  QSL via IK0FVC.
 
SVALBARD, JW.  JW2FL will be on the air from Bear Island, IOTA
EU-027, starting around the end of May, mostly on 20 meters.
 
JUAN FERNANDEZ ISLAND, CE0.  Bob, K4UEE, and Randy, K0EU, are
planning a DXpedition slated for a week in September 1995.
 
MONACO, 3A.  Luc, I1YRL, will be on all bands and modes June 10 and
11, 24 and 25, and sometime in September.  He will sign 3A/I1YRL.

CYPRUS, 5B.  G4WFZ plans to be active around May 26.
 
ALASKA, KL0.  Lanny, W5BOS, will operate from the Popof Islands,
IOTA NA-087, in the Shumagin Island Group, from 2200z July 12 to
2300z July 15.  Listen for his SSB and CW and the call sign
W5BOS/KL0.  QSL via W5BOS.
 
PUERTO RICO, WP3.  Paul, WX9E, Mike, N0BSH, and Felipe, NP4Z, will
team up to put newly allocated Puerto Rico prefixes on the air
during the CQ WW WPX CW Contest.  Listen for WP3/WX9E during the
contest.  QSL both NP3/N0BSH and WP3/WX9E via WX9E.
 
CUBA, CO0.  A group including CO2QQ, CO6CG, CO7KR, CT1EEB, CT1ESO,
EA5BYP, EA5YN, I8IYW and I0SNY will activate Sabana Archipelago May
25 to 29.  Listen for CO0OTA.  This will be a new one for IOTA.
They will be on all bands and modes, including satellite operations.
VHF activity will be on 50, 144 and 432 MHz for the benefit of grid
square hunters.  QSL via CT1ESO, Luis Gomes, PO Box 207, 8900 Vila
Real de Santo Antonio, Portugal.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The big one for this weekend is the CQ
WW WPX Contest on CW, from 0000z May 27 to 2400z May 28.  Work as
many different prefixes as possible.  Exchange signal report and
progressive three digit serial number, starting with 001.  Details
appear in February QST on page 105.
 
World Telecommunications Day on CW runs from 0000z to 2400z May 27.

The Venezuelan Independence Day Contest on SSB starts at 0000z July
1 to 2400z July 2.  Exchange signal report and serial number
starting with 001.  Work all stations, not just YV, YW, YX, YY or
4M.
 
The QRP ARCI Hoot Owl Sprint is from 2000z to 2400z local time May
28.  Exchange signal report, state/province/DXCC country and either
QRP ARCI number or power output.
