SB QST @ ARL $ARLB072 ARLB072 FCC grants deadline extension on Spectrum Policy comments ZCZC AG72 QST de W1AW ARRL Bulletin 72 ARLB072 From ARRL Headquarters Newington CT December 12, 2002 To all radio amateurs SB QST ARL ARLB072 ARLB072 FCC grants deadline extension on Spectrum Policy comments The FCC extended the deadline to receive comments on the recently released Spectrum Policy Task Force Report. The FCC extended comment deadlines by 18 days. The FCC had set January 9 as a deadline for comments and February 10 for reply comments. The IEEE Radio Regulatory Technical Advisory Group and Nick Leggett, N3NL, both filed motions for an extension of time. The IEEE group said it needed more time to ensure that views expressed in its comments represent the consensus views of its members. Leggett expressed concern about the impact of holiday activities on the ability of interested parties to make substantive comments by the deadline. The new comment deadline is January 27, 2003, and the new reply comment deadline is February 28. The FCC notes that the Spectrum Policy Task Force Report was drafted by FCC staff and was neither voted upon nor approved by the Commission. The text of the Report and other Task Force documents are available on the Task Force Web site at www.fcc.gov/sptf. NNNN /EX
