2015 ARRL Field Day
Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Services (CARES) is an active group of radio amateur volunteers which reports into the city’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) to provide critical communication functions when other infrastructure communication channels are not available. Field Day is CARES opportunity to conduct our Emergency Field Communications Drill. On Field Day, CARES operated as 2F and demonstrated Amateur TV and MESH networking in addition to HF and VHF/UHF operations.
CARES also ran a GOTA station under the call sign AG6GX.
CARES had 20 volunteers supporting the Field Day event that included youth participation. We all had a great time during Field Day!
