06/27/2007 | W4NJA Another great Field Day weekend in Western Ky..yes we had a few thunderstorms and lightning and some rain but we got to operate almost the whole 24 hours. We got all 3 stations up & running, our antennas stayed up. Several clubs across the state got hit and blew thier antennas and tents over..but we survived.
We set up at a public park again and usually we have a few birthday parties through out the summer day but not this year. McCracken County OEM had thier mobile command post on site this year, we got weather updates and second by second info when the weather was close so we could shut down plus it had som AC.
Best part of the weekend, good fellowship, many young (new) operators got some HF experience and everyone had a good time. Can't wait till next year when we can do it again. Check out more pics at www.w4nja.org -- KO4XJ
