07/10/2006 | W4MOD Well this year the 2006 IARU HF World Championship was better than last year's one. Propagation play an important role, here in South Florida during the morning was fine, then mid-day it drop completely, only 1 or 2 contacts during the afternoon, then after a few thunderstroms pass thru,, whao propagation/conditions open up and whao...!!! South America, Carribbean, Europe and more and it lasted all night long. Then on July 9th, it was kind of down but 1 hour before the end of the contest, it opened up and whao I make up for the lost time on the day before.

I feld sorry for a few stations that were calling CQ, but some stations were using way too much power and were splatering all over the band and frequencies and those who wanted to be heard had trouble getting out, but I managed to get a few of them.

Well, again overall this year contest was great!!! I can not wait for next year's contest and hopefully better things to come.
