W4CQ
The Charlotte Amateur Radio Club (W4CQ) has been working with the Salvation Army Carolina Division Headquarters to develop an emergency communications plan to support their Incident Management Assistance Teams (IMAT). This year we took advantage of Field Day to demonstrate how the plan actually works. Operating class F, we had two transmitters in the base station at Salvation Amry Division Headquarters and two more operating from an IMAT staton in the parking lot.
It was like any other Field Day; lots of operating, lots of fun, lots of food --- but our emergency plan now seems a lot less abstract. -- AK4GY
