2006 ARRL Field Day

07/03/2006 | W0ETV The first Field Day for the newly-formed Tri-County Amateur Radio Club in southeast Nebraska was filled with challenges and accomplishments. The club, which currently has members from Saline, Jefferson and Gage counties, had a spectacular outing during the 24-hour Field Day trial:

315 Contacts
46 U.S. Sections
4 Canada Sections
1 Mexico Section
2 2-meter contacts
4 6-meter contacts

The group, led by the efforts of Glen Felt (WT0A), set up an HF long wire antenna, an HF trapped dipole, a 6-meter antenna array and a 2-meter dipole to operate on. A computerized network tied the logging computers together nicely and a total of 10 different operators worked the bands over the event.

Anyone wishing to join the club can contact Eric, KC0AHK, at kc0ahk@hotmail.com, or check in on the 146.985- repeater Sunday nights at 20:30 local time for the ARES net. 73s. BJ (N0YNC) -- N0YNC
