06/27/2006 | W3EXP The Montgomery Amateur Radio Club (MARC) of Montgomery County, Maryland, made substantially more phone contacts at FD 2006 than in FD 2005 and FD 2004 even though the club had only 1 HF phone rig on the air versus 2 used in the prior two years. MARC operated far fewer hours than in the past and jumped on the air in between heavy rain, thunderstorms, and danger of flash flooding that hit the Washington DC area during the Field Day weekend.

The club also made more CW contacts this year than in the past 2 years even though the CW station was on line for less than 3 hours versus 24 hours in the prior 2 years!

MARC operated "2A+ GOTA MDC" from the Montgomery College, Germantown, Maryland campus. Many thanks to the members and guests who stuck it out in the rain!
