06/27/2006 | KC5R I figured I try out my home generator system during field day this year. It's supposed to run about 60 AMPS at 240V. Everything worked fairly well, except that we did overload it a time or two and it shut down (mostly due to Air conditioner start-up currents). It was a good weekend to test it out, as it was installed several months ago after Katrina, and I hadn't run it for an extended period of time since installation.

Had fun at the home QTH, and too bad I missed the 6mtr openings (was too busy on 20). 73s till next year. - Al -- KC5R
