K1UR
For the second year in a row, K1NR and K1UR took to the road to operate in the "rover" category, in my 1963 Land Rover station wagon. As was the case last year, the weather decided what direction to head. This year heavy rain was forecast at home and south, so we headed north and operated from Pack Monadnock in New Hampshire. The weather there turned out better than forecast. A shower passed through around 3:00 p.m and then it actually cleared up.
This year we brought a 6 meter halo in addition to the High Sierra antenna for HF and vertical for 144 MHz and 440 MHz, and we sure were glad we did as 6 meters was hopping! We made lots of contacts there, but also operated 75, 40, 20 15 on HF and 2 and 440 on VHF FM. -- K1UR
