06/26/2006 | K3ZT This year, I wanted to participate in Field Day as a Class 1B Station in my Section (EPA - Eastern Pennsylvania). So, I setup a Tent in the backyard... rented an Emergency Power Generator... strung a 20 Meter Dipole Antenna up in a tree... and of course, drug all the radio equipment from inside the house and placed it out in the tent.

Finally Finished! - That's Great! - All Set! - "Let's Get On The Air!"... BUT WAIT!

Old Mother Nature had different plans for me. Just as I was about to climb inside my "Outside Shack"... Lightening Bolts began flashing in the afternoon sky. I don't know about you, but I sure didn't think that it was a good idea to be sitting inside a tent at the end of a long piece of wire attached to a tree while scary lightening bolts were crashing in the sky! - SO... I waited.. and waited.. and waited some more.. until finally, all the storms passed. After that - LOTS of FUN! - Ready to do it all again next year! -- K3ZT
