6 meters was a joy to operate with band openings from coast to coast. At times it was difficult to find an open frequency. Considering that my 3 element beam was only up at 20 feet and I had to go outside and turn it by hand, I was rather happy with the results as I had very limited time to operate. I only heard and worked 3 stations on 2 meters and never heard a thing on 432. I used to be very into these VHF contests when I lived on the East coast. It is a completely different experience here in Western KY where contacts without Es and tropo are hard to come by. I had enough points and grid squares this time to actually send in a paper log that would not be very embarassing.
Good contest!
