2006 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/16/2006 | N4TUA Great time was had by all. This was my first VHF contest and I had a great time. I worked (at my job) all weekend but was able to get on the air after work and work a few stations. My VHF station is a Kenwood TS-700SP with 100' of Bury Flex out to a homemade wood and wire six element yagi up about 25'. My little signal was hard to hear but I was able to make a few remarkable contacts, like Charlotte, North Carolina EM96. That is DX for me running only 10 watts. I will be a little better prepaired next time and hope to increase my score. Although I am not looking for a high score, only want to have fun and gain some experience. Thanks to all. -- N4TUA
