2006 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/13/2006 | W6GMT What a VHF contest!
We stayed in the camp ground this year and did not
Rove. The camp ground is located in the Chippewa National
Forest in Northern Minnesota. We have spent the last 6 summers
at this location. We started the contest on 6 meters and log entry
number 2 was W1AW/0 from the Rocky Mountain Division Convention at
Estes Park and things just got better from there.
I caught part of the 2 meter E opening and was able to add 4 states
To my WAS count plus 6 grids.

Very simple station here in the camp ground we use a Yaesu FT-847 and
A KMA5054T 6 and 2 meter log about 25 feet up on the top of the tool
Shed. Hard to work 432 and above from here but I did make 2 contacts on 432 using my satellite antenna, Back to roving for the September contest. Thanks to all who worked me if you need a card send one no SASE needed. The log was uploaded to the logbook of the world and EQSL
Using W6GMT/0 this keeps the summer and winter QTHs separated 73 -- W6GMT
