2006 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/13/2006 | K2QO/R WOW! What else can you say about a June VHF QSO Party that morphed into a 6M marathon. There were times on 6M where our logging speed dictated our operating speed. Of course this was to the detriment of the other bands. Heck, this is the first June where we didn't have randoms on 1296. Nevertheless, it was our best June score ever. Many thanks to K2TER/R, our mentor, for all their help. We met up with them a couple of times for lunch, dinner a few Q's. As you can see in the photos, our operation involves lots of homebrew and duct tape for sucess. Dan, N9RLA, may have coined the term "No-Budget Rover", but our pics confirm that we live the philosophy very well.

My rover partner Paul, W2TAU, handled the technical challenges along the way while we shared driving and operating. Now to work on the list of improvements for September.
