2006 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/12/2006 | KA2ANF I thoroughly enjoyed operating the VHF Contest this weekend! Saturday was an incredible day with the 6 meter opening. It was great to be able to work into Washington, Oregon and Montana from New Jersey. Being on the East Coast, that was really exciting. The conditions on 2 meters were also very good.

This was a great time to test our newest antenna, the 6 meter dipole the pole-saw 6 meter dipole. This was a last minute addition and it worked very well. Photos attached
show it temporarily mounted to the Weber Grill in the middle of the back yard where we used it for the entire contest.

On 2 meters, we were fortunate to have a 10 element beam up about 35 feet on the top of the roof tower. And on 432 and 222 we were a bit limited with just vertical antennas.

It was a great time and I am looking forward to the next contest!

Joyce
