03/12/2006 | NA4CW Both best and worst contest ever for me. Doing 15m HP single band effort instead of my usual QRP. Cable to beam failed when I turned rig on Saturday AM for start of opening to EU. Two hours later was back on air running in excess of 200 - never done that from home before - only at big-gun multi-ops. The missed two hours really hurts at those rates! Sunday PM got intermittant S5-S7 line noise that killed the Pacific and dropped rates to as low as 4 per hour. Still managed to work 93 countries and 401 Qs in about 19.5 hours on the air.
