03/07/2006 | OH0JFP I went again to and Islands, better prepared than f CW part of this contest 2 weeks earlier. My friend Sture has built a decent station in the past few years but he is mostly interested in local VHF contests. I am simply trying to get him interested in HF contesting. It was snowing most of the time. Propagation was slightly better now than in CW part, yet the 20 m band folds down after sunset in this part of the world.
Sture OH0JFP welcomes visitors so if you are travelling in this part of the world, call at his shack out of town or at home "downtown" Mariehamn. Most likely one of the smallest capital cities in the world with some 10,000 inhabitants. Lovely nature - all year round. -- SM0JHF
