03/06/2006 | K0IZ My second contest ever. Still learning but worked 401 contacts on 20 SSB using my KWM2A, Amp Supply LK800, and wire V-beam. Seemed to me that the splatter noise level went up 3 or 4 S units once the contest started - a fair number of stations could do better with a little less mike gain! The SSTV folks seemed to retaliate for encroachment on their frequecies by long, idling transmissions and gross spatter (50 kHZ wide) on Saturday.

In spite of low solar flux, 20 meters was hopping. Great time, ready to do it again. John. -- K0IZ
