My daughters and I were hoping to get on for "Kids Day" but ended up missing it due to a family get-together. They are at the age where they're curious about what I do on the radio. I invited them to join me during the VHF SS, figuring it would be a good chance to get them on the air in a real event but with lower rates and QRM than you'd find on HF. We made up cue cards for calling CQ and making exchanges. They learned about the logging software, QSO points, and multipliers. I was there to keep everyone and everything on track, and to handle the late night hours and CW. We all had a blast! -- W8RU
