01/11/2006 | WA4IAM I had forgotten how much fun this event is. This was the first SKN I had participated in in about 25 years or more. I normally operate my James Millen 90801 transmitter and Collins 75A-4 receiver (both circa 1957) on AM phone, so it was a nice change of pace to run it on CW for an extended period. I was using my very elegant Vibroplex straight key, the best straight key I've ever used! I didn't go full bore for the event, making just a handful of QSOs over the 24 hour period, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I hope to jump in again next year. 73! -- WA4IAM
