01/10/2006 | KE0A Very much enjoyed participating in Straight Key Night. I was a "first-timer" after 40+ years in the hobby. Thanks to the three stations I worked: K4ZMV, W2SON and N5VI. They all did a great job. Tough to pick a "best fist" and "best qso" but will vote for Van, N5VI. I used a very old "Overland" key built, I'm told, in the early 1920's for use on spark gap rigs. It has "20 AMP" stamped on it! The OT that gave it to me said it had last been used around 1935. My OT friend became a Silent Key a couple of years ago. I think he would have been pleased to hear that the old key was again on the air. -- KE0A
