2006 ARRL Straight Key Night

SKN 2006 was an absolute joy in which to take part again this year! My "biggest surprise QSO"...HP1AC replied to my CQ on 20M. "Best sounding vintage gear"...W7VK with his Heath DX40 transmitter running 50 watts and married to his Drake 2B receiver.
My station equipment for SKN 2006 was a Ten Tec Orion transceiver and a GHD straight key (purchased from Morse Express last year). I don't know if my gear was the "newest" on the air but it might have caused Hiram Percy Maxim to raise hi eyebrows hi hi!
SKN was an absolute pleasure again this year. 40M was busy with straight key signals shortly after the starting time. It's a good sign that operating CW can still bring pleasure to Amateur radio.
