2005 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

12/13/2005 | NX9T Wow! What a pleasant surprise. I had figured (incorrectly) that this years 10m contest might be slow and somewhat uninteresting. Not at all! Plenty of fun was to be had. While the majority of Q's were NA and SA, a few EU's and African stations popped through as well. A couple years ago I went after this contest as a QRP entrant and had a blast. However, I decided early on that due to the propagation challenges, etc...that I would go straight from the QRP level..bypass the little pistol category...and engage the "Big Gun." (See photo) In all seriousness, while I was only able to be on for around 9 or 10 hours, I had a great time during my adventure. I wound up with approximately 550 Q's, 106 mults, and 160,000 points. I tip-toed out of my "comfort zone" and operated more CW then normal and even tried my hand at a few small CW runs. Thanks to all who demonstrated patience while I worked to put your callsign together! :)

Thanks for another great contest...Merry Christmas...and feel free to visit my webpage for station information, etc...at www.qsl.net/nx9t...
