12/04/2005 | WS1L My first 160 meter contest. Spent about 8 hours operating between Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. Band condx were better than I expected. The K9AY loops worked really well - I even worked K9AY on them. I finished with 66 sections, 46 states (where were you ID, ND, HI and AK?) and 5 countries, all in the Carribean. Not too bad for a 60 foot vertical and 400 watts. 37k points = lots of fun. Time for antenna work... -- WS1L
