2005 ARRL Field Day
I had a pretty good idea where they were coming from, so this year I pushed for having Field Day again and I became the coordinator this year. I proposed a slight change in venue. I set us up inside the Lockheed Georgia employee Association Club house. We had air conditioned comfort for operating, it was dry, and we only had to set up antennas, not any shelters. We also had an air conditioned area where those not operating could rest, relax and sleep without having to go home.
With just a few antennas to set up and take down, the 3 of us that did set up and teardown did not kill ourselves.
For me, it was the most fun Field Day I have ever participated in.
The Lockheed Georgia Employee Association Amateur Radio Club president, Tony Miles KD4CJO said
"All,
The field day event was a blast! Special thanks to Dave Pearce for all of his effort in making this years W4LMA field day a reality. Also special thanks to Malcolm Richardson for his tireless help with setup and teardown. We had several visitors on Saturday and Sunday. Everybody seemed to enjoy the controlled chaos of simultaneous operation of multiple transmitters. Someone, who shall remain nameless, actually said, This HF stuff is really fun! I hope that next year we can get more of the membership involved, and give the rest of you a chance top come out and have a bit of radio fun.
Check the W4LMA Yahoo Group for pictures of Field Day." -- AB0NG
