07/16/2005 | N7V Field Day 2005 was held at Sunset Park in the southeast side of Las Vegas. The event was shared by three Las Vegas area clubs: Las Vegas Amateur Radio Club (LVRAC), Frontier Amateur Radio Society (FARS) and the Nellis AFB Amateur Radio club. Six stations were set up in a gazebo that was partially enclosed with blue tarps to contain cool air emitted by a rented swamp cooler used to combat the heat of the day of 95 plus degrees. The event continued through the night and Sunday morning with a break for an outdoor Saturday evening dinner hosted by the LVRAC. The LVRAC Emcomm trailer was set up on the site to show the how the trailer is equipped to handle emergencies and other events in the Las Vegas area.
