07/12/2005 | W2BXR Although I have been licensed since 1957 this is the first field day I participated in as a contestent. I did not rack up a high score but I enjoyed it and even managed to make some CW contacts. My friends at W4IAR, Hilton Head, SC, were so friendly to me last year when I was with them for part of field that I just had to show my appreciation. A great group of hams that go out of their way to participate in Field Day and support ham radio in every way, every day. Their enthusiasm rubbed off. Thanks guys!
