2005 ARRL Field Day

06/30/2005 | N2SE The rustic setting of a ski lodge, nestled at the base of the Ramapo Mountains, served as a perfect setting fpr the 10-70 Repeater Association's Annual Field Day operations. Ten stations were set-up, with a variety of antennas on homebrew masts and radios powered by a bicycle powered generator, and a generator loaned by Mahwah, New Jersey's, Office of Emergency Management.

A group of elected officials were on-hand prior to the 2:00PM start time and included: Bergen-Passaic Assemblyman David Russo, Ramsey Mayor Richard Muti, Ramsey Public Safety Councilman David Basaillon, and Ramsey Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Adams, WA2MWT. Following presentation of proclamations, resolutions, and commendations the 10-70 amateurs reported to their various tents to begin Field Day activities.

Joyce Birmingham, KA2ANF, Vice-Director of the Hudson Division and Vice President of the 10-70 Club, declared the 24 hour operation a complete success. The 10-70 President is Paul Beshlian,KC2CJW; Secretary, Matthew Ryffel, K2NUD; Treasurer George Sabbi, KC2GLG, and Bill Stagg, KC2BLN served as Filed Day Chairman.
