07/02/2005 | WB8BZK/VE3 Well my score surely wont show it but I had a great time operating the contest for a few hours from EO40. Combined two hobbies by bringing my FT100D and a 6 meter dipole along on a wilderness fly-in fishing trip to Lake Seseganaga in Ontario. Got my power from a 12 Volt boat battery. No locals to talk to but I did manage to make aurora contacts with N0VZJ, K9NS, and K9MU during the contest period. The excitement for me was activating a new grid as I work towards the new VUCC/R award. I was also very happy to be able to give out a new grid to a few stations. Mike -- WB8BZK
