K4LSC
Our Laurens Amateur Radio Society, LARS, met at the beautiful Lake Rabon Park for the 11th year operating 1A in Field Day. We had poor propagation Saturday, which only allowed for 130 contacts during the first 8 hours. Conditions improved some Saturday as well as Sunday and we netted 512 contacts altogether with our 1A setup. We didn't make any Q's on 10 meters and just a few of 15 meters. Guest visiting our K4LSC Information Booth enjoyed watching CW and SSB contacts being made from our Air Conditioned RV via ATV, which was a big hit this year. Thank God and Jim White/KF4YKT for Air Conditioning here in South Carolina..
When the smoke cleared and the logs were edited, we ended up with a claimed score of 3020 points. This included 1200 bonus points and 1820 contact points.
1200 Bonus points + 228 SSB bonus points + 1592 CW bonus points.
For a total of: 3020 points claimed.
Not bad for a small 1A Station on the back roads of South Carolina, Especially with the less than optimal conditions this year.
Way to Go LARS ! ! !
