07/09/2003 | K8FK Wow! This was my first VHF/UHF contest since the 1960's. This was a lot of fun--and I will do it again. My strategy was to plan my attack very carefully and to test my equipment prior to the contest. Due to some complications (Murphy!) I ended up with a 6 meter antenna I could not trust. I ordered a new one ASAP. It arrived and I was able to erect it 30 minutes before the contest started! So much for testing as I had to set up my logging program for this contest format. Oh well, I enjoyed making a few DX contacts, several states/grids. Photo is of the massive, M2 array I put up at 12 feet, just before the contest started! -- K8FK
