Thailand to be Active on 6 Meters during CQ WW VHF
Thailand radio amateurs will be permitted to operate on 6 meters from 1701 UTC on July 16 until 1659 UTC on July 18, when the CQ World Wide VHF Contest takes place. Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) granted the permission, in response to a request from the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand. In 2014, the NBTC authorized Amateur Radio operation in principle on 6 meters, but the military was strongly opposed and filed a lawsuit against the regulator. NBTC has granted permission in the past for special events.Â
