Meet the Author at ARRL EXPO!
ARRL will present a “Meet the Author” area in the ARRL EXPO at Hamvention® 2017, to give visitors an opportunity to speak with authors who are inspiring today’s radio experimenters, operators, and innovators. Three authors will be in the ARRL EXPO area:
- Ward Silver, N0AX, author of new ARRL publication Grounding and Bonding for the Radio Amateur. This book shows you how to build your ham radio station with effective grounding and bonding techniques for electrical safety, lightning protection, and RF management. Silver is also the author of ARRL’s Hands-On Radio Experiments (volume 1 and volume 2), ARRL License Manuals and Ham Radio for Dummies.
- Glen Popiel, KW5GP, author of new book More Arduino Projects for Ham Radio, builds on the success of his Arduino for Ham Radio. This volume includes 15 completely new practical and functional Arduino projects for your station. Popiel is also the author of High Speed Multimedia for Amateur Radio, which introduces HSMM networking, explains the basics of how it works, and describes the various technologies in use today.
- Joel Hallas, W1ZR, QST contributing editor, author of “ARRL The Doctor is In” Podcast, and many books including The ARRL Guide to Antenna Tuners, Understanding Your Antenna Analyzer, The Care and Feeding of Transmission Lines, The Radio Amateur’s Workshop, Basic Radio, and Basic Antennas.
Books will be available for purchase within the ARRL EXPO area for the authors to sign. In addition to the “Meet the Authors” area, the ARRL EXPO will include a wide variety of exhibits and activities from the ARRL, including QSL card checking, the opportunity to have your handheld transceiver checked for spurious emissions, and more.
The ARRL EXPO is located in Building 2 of Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center. Visit the ARRL Hamvention web page for a complete list of ARRL EXPO programs, activities and presentations, as well as a floor plan of all the exhibits.
