Is there an issue with email forwarding presently? Sep 26 to Sep 28

over last couple days my email messages have dropped down to almost nothing.
I send a message to myself and it never makes it through

I just recently received a notice from the ARRL about a change to @arrl.net service:

"On October 15, 2013 ARRL will be switching providers for the ARRL.NET email forwarding service. The change will take place at 8:00am Eastern Time. There should be no interruption in the forwarding of messaging during this transition."

Perhaps this will resolve the issues you're experiencing.

The provider cut-over seems to have occurred as scheduled. The first message forwarded from my @arrl.net address via the new provider was delivered shortly after 10am EST on the 15th.

Since then my traffic volume has been as expected.

I'm very curious to hear (and see) how the new forwarding system works vs the old one!

Service seems as slow, as unreliable, and as random as ever.

And now the ARRL forwarding service provider is blocking ALL email coming from Yahoo IP addresses, which means that I can no longer ever forward occasional emails from my own Yahoo account to my ARRL.net address when I run across something I want to save.

Years ago the forwarding service used to work quickly and reliably. Then the League started contracting it out to whoever offered the lowest bid -- and when you contract out based entirely on price, you get what you pay for (or in this case even less).

I thought it would be as simple as Google or Yahoo or any other email service that would make it simple to log on with other hams. Why Not?

arrl.net for the forwarded addresses.

arrl.org is for headquarters people, mainly. Yes, it's a bit confusing.

You need another account to test email forwarding with a Gmail account, as Gmail will suppress messages sent to the same account.
