CW question

I have a Alinco DX-77 when the CW plug is inserted into the jack the radio starts sending a series of Beeps as if i am sending code. I am also totally new to CW am looking to answers. The key is not closed and/or the feed wire shorted. Any ideas appreciated. |

Many radios, including your Alinco, come with electronic keyers. You may need to change a menu setting on your radio to accommodate a straight key. Zack Lau W1VT ARRL Senior Lab Engineer |

What type of plug are you using? Maybe you have a mono plug when you should be using a stereo plug. I do not know what type of plug the radio uses. 73 Don KE8DO |
