New tech (soon). Now that I have my 40m dipole up, I need to tune it. What QRP CW frequencies can I expect to work the most? I'm looking for a frequency to tune the antenna to. |

I'd suggest cutting it for 7030 kHz, where most of the CW activity can be found. Later on, when you upgrade, you shouldn't need to tune it for JT65 at 7076 kHz--it should be wide enough. Zack Lau W1VT ARRL Senior Lab Engineer |

While 7030 kHz is the QRP watering hole, if you're into manual Morse, the SKCC (Straight Key Century Club) main 40m frequency is 7055 kHz and its Elmer frequency is 7114 kHz. SKCC operation isn't necessarily QRP but a lot of the ops do use QRP as well. The 4 State QRP Group holds its weekly 40m net on 7122 kHz. If you trim for 7070 kHz, you'll cover the low end of 40m quite well as there isn't just one QRP frequency. 73, de Nate >> N0NB.us |
