Is there a spectrum inversion that takes place when using a quadrature sampling detector (Tayloe detector)?

Handling Spectral Inversion in Baseband Processing

All mixers I've worked with can be used to generate spectral inversion.

It is also possible to inadvertently create spectrum inversion.

See page 10, where it says you can choose either upper or lower sideband. Translation--you can choose either to invert or not. And you can invert either at the detector or at an earlier mixing stage. Or at multiple stages, if you wish.
