meteor scatter --how to?

I heard the show on meteor scatter on "The Doctor is in" ARRL podcast. I cranked up my Yaesu - 857 with an ATAS-120a on my bumper with JT-65 and went looking for QSO's on 10 meters thru 70 cm. but no joy. What am I doing wrong? I got the impression that meteors were constantly ionizing the ionosphere. Is there an optimum time for meteor scatter? |
