The TV radiates video buzz in the 440 MHz ham band only when the set is on. Ferrites on the power cord have no effect. Any suggestions? |

A 70 cm whip antenna is just six inches long. A piece of wire inside the TV set can be an effective radiator at that frequency. You may be able to move the 70 cm antenna to reduce the interference. A directional 70 cm antenna would also help. In theory, a shield between the TV set and the antenna would also eliminate the interference, but that may not be practical. The TV's supplied power cable is ungrounded. Would grounding the antenna connector help? |

If there is wire inside the TV set radiating through a plastic case grounding the antenna connector or power cable is unlikely to help. |
