I like to work digimodes with my Yaesu- 857.

I keep the RF wattage at 20-30 watts because I have heard that the duty cycle can cook the final.

what is the max safe wattage for:

PSK
JTxx
Olivia
Thor
Throb
RTTY

Thanks

If you keep the RF output to 30 Watts maximum, you will be just fine using digital modes. For your own comfort, reach around the back. If you cannot touch the radio because it's too hot, then take a break.from transmitting.
