IC-706 and FC40 auto tuner

I have acquired an Icom 706, not a MKIIg, a 706. I also have a Yaesu FC-40 auto tuner. Question is would the FC-40 do the job as an auto tuner for the IC-706 in a mobile situation, are they that different. ccunert@yahoo.com |

The problem is that the FC-40 is only designed to work with the transceiver control circuitry in the FT-857D/FT-897D--reverse engineering an suitable interface box is a difficult and time consuming exercise for most hams. Zack Lau ARRL Senior Lab Engineer |
