I finished my Extra class test a bit ago and want to get a 1x2 or 2x1 vanity call sign. However, I failed in my first application to carefully read the rules and ended up getting dismissed. So before I try again I thought I would post here for advice - I'm in Region 4 (Virginia) and looking for few valid 1x2 or 2x1 call signs I could apply for and not get rejected! Thanks! |

Nevermind - I just found the AEQ7 web site and realized that I have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery than getting a four digit call sign...it looks like only a few come up each year and you have to then be lucky enough to have your application randomly picked since most get multiple apps. I guess I'll go buy a powerball ticket instead. |

Granted, a 1x2 or 2x1 is a game of chance, but a Group A call (AA4?? to AK4?? exclusive of AH4??) might be available as a vanity. While they may not be as "desirable" they are only available to holders of the Extra license class. 73, Nate N0NB.us |

While I am still General class, I got a 1x3 vanity call. There are lots of them available. When I get my Extra, I'll keep my current 1x3. |
