WiFi broadband interference

I am allowing a friend of mine to use my tower for his WiFi business. I get free internet service. However, I have strong interference on all HF and VHF bands on certain frequencies. If I unplug the power to the system, the interference goes away. We have already tried an analog power supply. Anyone else had this type of problem? Any suggestions? |

Most likely this would be a Power Supply issue, however as you have changed it out, that seems not to be your problem. I would try to find a spectrum analyzer to pinpoint the frequencies being generated by the Wi-Fi gear. Most likely there is some harmonic that is being generated by its internal clock(s) that is/are being picked up and amplified by your rigs amplifiers. Try putting power line filters on everything, and if that doesn't work move his antennas farther from yours on the mast. |
